For many years, industries compromised employee safety because most rescue and retrieval systems were not designed to accommodate unconventional confined workspaces.

Our story
The Beginning
1998
In 1998, Martin Dufour and Denis Poissant, two friends with experience in sales and distribution in the utility industry, carved their niche in the distribution of industrial equipment to prominent companies such as Hydro-Québec and Bell Canada. Through the distribution of high-quality equipment and great customer service, INNOVA garnered a great reputation in the utility industry in the Quebec Province.
INNOVA identified an opportunity to fill a need in the market in 2000 and seized it. This need was to provide specialized confined space rescue/retrieval equipment to industries that had no solutions. Following two years of research, Innova landed a contract with Hydro-Quebec for 287 manhole barricade systems. To date, the Xtirpa Manhole barricade system is our signature product and our best-selling system.
The decision to dedicate itself to the confined space industry was made. INNOVA invested heavily in engineering, design, skilled workers, and superior manufacturing equipment. And today, because of the determination and drive of the INNOVA team, we offer the lightest, most durable, innovative, and modular confined space equipment on the market.
